Show Rules
2023 Sweetheart Showdown General Rules
- All animals must be tied out at the trailer or shown out of trailers. Limited tie-outs will be available on a first-come first-served basis
- No animals or personnel allowed in the barns
- No Alcohol, Tabaco, Other Drugs, etc. are allowed
- Lights out (quiet time) at 10 pm every night
- Manure and bedding will be dumped in a designated area
- Exhibitors must clean up their area (this includes: hair/wool, manure, trash,etc.)
- Late entries will be allowed on-site at $45 per head
- You need to bring your own power.
Show Specific Rules
- All animals must be tied out at the trailer or shown out of trailers. Limited tie-outs will be available on a first-come first-served basis
- Exhibitors will need to be on time for your class
- Exhibitor back numbers must be clearly displayed before entering the ring
- If you are showing multiple species, gate personnel must be informed
- Exhibitor must show their own animal for showmanship
- Proper show attire must be worn
- Age for showmanship classes will be determined based on the exhibitor's age as of January 1, 2023 Ages 8-14 will be junior and ages 15-19 will be senior.
- Exhibitor must be able to control animal (Uncontrollable animals will be excused and entry fees will not be refunded)
- Seasonal Passes for all animals should be present
- Exhibitor must show registered paperwork for registered cattle at check-in
- Female breeding animals that have given birth or produced offspring will not be allowed to show.
- We will follow the National Show Ring Code of Ethics
- All commercial breeding classes will be determined by weight not age
- Heifer breed specific classes will include Shorthorn, Chianina, AOB and Crossbred. Crossbred classes will be broken out by weight.
- Queen Creek FFA, Mesquite FFA, John Volken Academy Ranch, volunteers, and staff are not responsible for any accidents that occur.
- The 2023 will be a Blow and Go Show. Animals that have been fitted will be placed within their classes at the Judge's discretion.
Dry Camping Rules
- Lights out (quiet time) at 10pm every night.
- Clean up your areas before you leave.
- Can only park in designated area.
